So, it's been 5 days since we should've gotten the call. 5 days ago, I should've signed the papers and ordered the juke once and for all. Now, it seems like I won't be able to do that, since I don't think the dealer met their quota for may, and now they can't order a Juke NISMO 6-speed w/ Nav pkg...

I has a sad...

If they don't call back by Monday, I officially will have to start looking for another car. The one upside to this is that maybe, just maybe i'll be able to get a 500 Abarth...

That's confusing. Seems like any channel by which they could get a potential order (perhaps with a deposit of some sort being a special model) they'd be jumping hoops and glad to get your low-volume dealership a halo car through the system. Lots of good PR pics even if it's still a PITA for them to order one, which it seems to be.

I guess it's like those Chevy dealers that can't stock a Vette on the lot.

Yeah I don't get it either. They must think dude's joking. A dealership should be able to order anything if it is ordered by a customer at least that was the case for Ford, and Chrysler whenI worked for them. For example our small town dealership couldn't/wouldn't stock a Ford Raptor but if a customer asked for one, they got a dang red carpet rolled out for them just so we could sit it in our showroom for a few days. I get not being able to order a car to sit on the lot, but not being able to order a car for a customer that will commit to buying it. Sounds like BS to me.

Just the fact that they haven't called shows that they aren't taking you seriously, and you need to move on to a different dealership. They should at least have the courtesy to call and say, "hey yeah so we can't get that ugly weird thing you wanted cough cough BS (we don't want to go to the trouble of ordering this for you, we're to busy selling mid sized SUVs"

it's old school shit. They did it with the Viper and the Corvette. I was at a gm dealer and they had to sell "x" amounts of cars to get vettes. And they had to sell "x" amounts of vettes to keep getting them. Not just to stock them but to even order them.

And all the potential headache in delivery. Every stage of the process somebody is going to want to calibrate the speedometer. Passing by the truck stop, I would feel obliged to unload the car and calibrate.

Crap. Hope it gets worked out, I really really like the Juke. I think it is the bravest thing an automaker may put into production, and that bravery seemed to work out wth sales.

If not, then I guess it would be tempting to get a Volkswagen. May be an older one with the 2.5 Inline 5. You, as well as I, would feel happy with the choice.
